Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles #1) Review

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles #1)
Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl.

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future

Now for the review.
I admit I was unsure whether or not to read Cinder (I mean a retelling of Cinderella with Cyborgs??????)
Cinder is a teenage mechanic cyborg living in the dystopian world of New Beijing. The world has had a plague circulating around for years and one of the main topics of the book is the search for the cure. Cyborgs are believed by people to be a diseased group and only useful for plague antibiotic testing. The plot turned out to be amazing, and the characters were very interesting.

Cinder is a hardworking Cyborg who's dream is to become independent of her stepmother. Cinder's love is shown through her devotion to her younger step-sister Linh Peony.
Cinder's Stepmother I found to be pretty typical of a Cinderella retelling, as was her other step-sister Linh Pearl. The prince in the book: Kai is a strong-hardworking man who similarly to Cinder shows his love to family and country throughout the book.
The author did a good job adding lots of plot twists to keep you on your toes.

The one thing that I found lacking was the romance between Kai and Cinder, it remained in my underdeveloped throughout the book, Which is the only reason that this book received 4 butterfly's instead of 5. But altogether after completing Cinder all I could think about was reading Scarlet :).
